High-resolution analysis of synergistic effects between membrane active peptides and classical antibiotics on bacterial membranes
Aim of the project: Identification of membrane-active peptides to improve antibiotic treatment of bacterial infections.
Funded within the "Leibniz Competition" (SAW) initiative, this project of Leibniz Health Technologies (LHT) is uncovering interactions between peptides, antibiotics and bacterial membranes using high-resolution microscopy methods and adapted bacterial model systems. Thus, the project is merging aspects of the two LHT competence areas: Biomarkers and Imaging Methods.
